Bangladesh- the land of friendliest & most hospitable peoples in the world, Royal Bengal Tours warmly welcomes you to this undiscovered world. Location - Dhaka, Kurigram, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogra, Rajshahi, kustia, Narail otter fishing, Khulna, Bagerhat, Sundarban forest, Borisal, Chittagong, Rangamati, Bandarban. Day 1 - Dhaka arrival in the evening and overnight stayDhaka arrives by flight number “…” upon arrival meet and greet transferred to hotel for check inn and freshen up. After a bit of rest we will offer you a short sightseeing through the neighborhood area. Overnight at a hotel in Dhaka. Day 2 - Orientation to Old DhakaThe bustling capital of Bangladesh never rests but has much to offer - Let us show you! Places we will visit in this trip- Sadarghat (River front), Armenian Church, Shankharia Bazar and Tanti Bazar (Hindu street), Ahsan Manzil (Pink Palace), Star Mosque, Dhakeswari Hindu Temple, Lalbagh Fort, Curzon Hall (Dhaka University campus), Bongshal road, Liberation war Museum and if we are allowed by the time then we would take a chance to visit Korail Slum otherwise we do this by following morning. Overnight Stay at a hotel in Dhaka. Day 3 -Excursion to the First Capital of East Bengal- SonargaonSonargaon was the countries first capital. In its prime time the ‘Golden City’ was also an important river port and the trading centre for the world-famous muslin cloth. The remains of a number of mosques, tombs, stupas and a bridge in Panam Nagar and the well-maintained Folk Art Museum are well worth visiting. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. On the way back to Dhaka we will take a stop in Nowapara; famous for the traditional Jamdanee weaving, you are welcome to visit the skilled weavers producing the intricate textile. Overnight in Dhaka. Day 4 - Drive Through beautiful landscape to KurigramVery early in the morning around 6:30am starts for Kurigram (7hours) district (the northwest of Bangladesh) by reserved vehicle. This is a very nice journey that lets you experience the different geography of Bangladesh. Arrive Kurigram in the late afternoon and transfer to the best available local guest house (very Basic Facilities) run by NGO. Free time in the late afternoon to take some rest or walking around would be an option. Overnight at either RDRS or Chinnamukul NGO Guest house, Kurigram. Day 5 – Rural life on the bank of Brahmaputra River, Kurigram-RangpurAfter breakfast drive to Chilmari to visit the Chars of the Brahmaputra River. We take boat from Chilmari to visit some chars of Kurigram district along the Brahmaputra river near the Indian border and see how the river erosion, flood affect local people's life. Chars are large sandbank islands that isolated from mainland. In the late afternoon we drive to Rangpur. Overnight at RDRS Guest House, Rangpur. Day 6 – Explore Northern Bangladesh, Rangpur- DinajpurToday we explore the highlights of Rangpur & Dinajpur distriet, visit the Tajhat palace, one of the finest Rajbaris in Bangladesh, also the delightful Kali Mandir. Later visit Kantanagar temple, one of the most spectacular Terracotta Hindu temples in Bangladesh, built in 1752 by the famous Maharaja of Dinajpur. Discover its fine and extensive terra-cotta work and the adjacent villages. Overnight at RDRS Guest House. Day 7 – Paharpur and Mahasthangarh Archaeological SitesAfter breakfast drive to Somapuri Vihara at Paharpur; the highest Buddhist stupa south of Himalaya, dated from 8th Century AD. After having lunch at a local restaurant drive to Oldest Hindu Capital; name Mahasthangarh, dating back from 3rd Century BC. There isn’t a lot to see, but the scale is impressive and the countryside is interesting to wonder in. Although quite a small, the site museum has some interesting Hindu and Buddhist pieces dating from the 6th to 13th Century AD. Overnight at a Hotel in Bogra. Day 8 – Medieval Bengal, Explore Rajshahi.Leave the hotel after breakfast and drive to Rajshahi, on the way visit the Hindu Terracotta temples in Puthia. Other places to visit in Rajshahi; the famous Varendra Research Museum, weaving, dying, block and batik painting of exclusive natural silk fiber. In the late afternoon a relaxing walk along the bank of the Padma (Ganges) River or a short boat cruise to enjoy the sunset. Overnight in Rajshahi. Day 9 – Hustling, bustling bazar and Tribal Cultural ProgramThere are also some indigenous community residing in this area; such as Orao, Mahale, Shantal and Shaotal. Today we spend some time with these communities, visiting their village, Pre-primary school- to know how they are trying to keep their own language and culture. In the afternoon enjoy a cultural program performed by the indigenous community. Drive to Rajshahi for overnight stay. Day 10 – Otter fishing & Rabindra KuthibariVery early in the morning around 6:30am starts for Jessore, stop for breakfast at a road-side restaurant. On the way we may visit Shelaidaho Rabindra Kuthibari, where Rabindranath Tagore stayed for quite a long time and observed the local life from his house boat or the holy shrine of Baul Shomrat (folk and spiritual song research centre) in Kustia. And continue drive to Jessore, soon after having lunch at a local restaurant we drive to Narail to experience the unique otter fishing. Drive to Jessore/ Narail for overnight stay. Day 11 – Mosque, Temple and MausoleumAfter breakfast continue drive to Mongla via Khulna, here we shall visit the historical sixty domed mosque (UNESCO world heritage site) and the mausoleum of Khan Jahan Ali. Overnight in hotel Pashur in Mongla. Day 12 – Explore Sundarban, the magical mangrove forestLeave the hotel by 6am for boat (5 minutes walk), breakfast on board.  After completion of the boarding the boat will begin the cruise to the south. After few hours of cruising the boat will stop at a forest station to complete formalities for necessary permission and also pick up armed forest guards to stay on board. After that the boat will resume the cruise and arrive at Kotka / Kochikhali forest station late in the afternoon and anchor for overnight stay. If time permits will do some activities in the forest. Overnight and all meals on board. NB: Please bring jungle walking shoes; there might be a walking trip through the little mud and aerial mangrove roots. Day 13 – Sundarban – UNESCO world heritage site and home of endangered Bengal TigerShortly after sunrise explore the narrow creeks aboard a wooden rowboat, allowing a close look at the unique mangrove fauna & flora. After a leisurely breakfast a variety of activities, including an easy trek to the pristine beach facing the Bay of Bengal or a hike through the mangroves. In the afternoon there will be more activities for you. Overnight and all meals on board. Day 14 – Sundarban – Mongla – BorisalDepending on the tide situation, the boat will begin the return journey with the high tide and cruising the whole day, Arrive Mongla by early afternoon. Disembark the boat after lunch. Take the awaiting reserved transport to Borisal (4hours). Upon arrival check in and overnight stay in Borisal.  Day 15 – Local life and folk evening.After Breakfast at a local restaurent drive to a nearby village to explore the lifestyle of rural village – activities in very relaxing way. Lunch will be offered with a local family in the same village. After a bit of rest walk around the village, meeting with the strangers, greet the shy women who has come to see you. Late in the afternoon a village folk song will be arrange to give you an idea of Bengal musical cultural flavor. After the cultural program and having dinner with the family drive back to Borisal for overnight stay. Day 16 – Back water trip, channel cruise, floating market visiting.We will checkout from the hotel and leave all the lauggages in the receiption, after breakfast at a local restaurent drive to Banoripara, here you will board at a country boat and start back water channel cruise, on route you will enjoy visiting of floating wooden boat market, local ship building yard by the riverside, sinking timber hub of southern Bengal, floating seasonal fruit/Vegetable market etc. Lunch will be served at a typical Bengali local restaurant by the riverside market run by a Hindu women then take the boat for return journey. Drive back to Borisal town to take the overnight (8pm. Departure) boat to Dhaka. Arrive Dhaka by very early in the following morning (6/7am) if the weather situation is under normal situation, due to the heavy fog boats are often delayed to arrives Dhaka by mid-day. Day 17 – Borisal  Dhaka  ChittagongUp on arrival from Borisal, take breakfast at a typical old Dhaka Restaurent, if we are allowed by time then we will spend some time to visit some unusual places apart from the regular touristic destination. Drive to domestic airport to catch (15:00hrs) flight to Chittagong. Upon arrival received by the awaiting driver after a sightseeing around Chittagong town drive to a hotel in the city centre for overnight stay. Day 18 – Chittagong  Rangamati; tribal Museum, Village and Local MarketEarly morning travel to Rangamati, Check in to the Parjatan Motel and after a short rest and lunch visit the tribal Museum and a nearby tribal village, weekly tribal market will be interesting to walk around. If we are allowed by the day light a visit to Buddhist shrines or monasteries would be nice. Overnight at the Hotel Parjatan Motel. Day 19 –  Kaptai lake cruise, tribal Museum We take a cruise on the Kaptai lake, to explore Subalong waterfall  and visit some tribal families on the islands where you can see them making Handloom fabrics. Relax the whole afternoon. Overnight at the Hotel Parjatan Motel.  Day 20 – Rangamati to BandarbanIn the morning   drive to Bandarban. After hotel check-in and lunch at Hill Side resort restaurant spend the lazy afternoon relax, reading in nature or two hours hiking to Hatibandha Tripura tribal village is an option or explore Buddhist temples and Stupas, wander through around the one road side tribal bazaar or take a walk in the hills. Overnight at Hillside Eco lodge. Day 21 – Cruise through Shangu River & river side tribal villageToday a beautiful cruise up the Shangu River in a small wooden (best available boat is less than basic but safe) country boat to visit Tripura and Marma villages. After lunch, you’ll visit the tribal cultural institute, Explore Buddhist hilltop Jadi and Stupas and tribal Local Market .Overnight at the Hillside Eco-lodge Day 22Drive to Shoilopropat, Chimbuk Hill, Faruque Para (Bwam tribal) village and Hiking to Hati Bandha Tripura Tribal Village. Drive to Chittagong for overnight stay at Aristos Hotel. Day 23After breakfast a short interesting visit to local fish market, cruise on Karnafuli River; and also visit the huge wooden fishing boat manufacturing place, walk through the hundreds and hundreds of awaiting fishing boat area by the Karnafuli River. Then catch the afternoon train to Dhaka, reach Dhaka around 10pm. overnight in Dhaka. Day 24Full day in Dhaka- Some hotel visit/ Shopping, some rest after the long trip and prepare for next trip to India. Day 25Transfer to the international airport and fly home.
